Book presentation

Mzia Tsereteli, Professor of Psychology at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University presented the book "Intercultural Sensitivity among Georgian, Armenian, and Azerbaijani Students in Georgia" in Tbilisi State University’s Melikhishvili conference hall, on March 14, 2015. The presentation was attended by psychologists, ethnologists, social science researchers and students from different Universities. Employees of various governmental units responsible for the ethnic minority issues, including employees of Ministry of Education and Science also attended the presentation.  The publication was prepared on the basis of the research project “Intercultural Sensitivity of the students in Georgia” supported by the ASCN programme.

Employing specially developed instruments, the research studies intercultural sensitivity among Armenian, Azerbaijani, and Georgian students towards one another. This topic was studied based on teaching (preparatory vs Bachelor’s) level, and geographical (Tbilisi’s vs regional) factors. The research revealed student’s values, which represent predictors of various levels of intercultural sensitivity.

An electronic version of the monograph is available in English and Georgian here.
