Research
Promoting research lies at the heart of the ASCN programme. Many scholars in the South Caucasus don’t have the opportunity to carry out research due mainly to a lack of financing.
The ASCN programme aims to provide opportunities for these young scholars to conduct research projects and bring them up to European standards. The ASCN would like to bridge the existing gap and help talented researchers run projects in line with European academic standards, the ultimate goal being for these individuals to continue their careers in the academic world.
The programme supports a limited number of high-quality projects in the social sciences and/or humanities on transformation-related topics. Projects are selected based on requirements outlined in thematically defined calls for proposals. The umbrella topic for each call is agreed upon by local institutions and an international board of scientists then selects which projects will be accepted.
